Do I need to instrument my app first?
No. Nocturna reads navigation and interaction events from the snippet, so your first funnel is available within an hour of installing. Custom events are supported when you want them, but nothing depends on them.
Where is the data stored?
In the EU by default, with a US region available on the Team plan. Raw events are retained for the length of your plan history and can be exported at any time.
Is it GDPR compliant without a cookie banner?
Yes. Nocturna is cookieless and does not fingerprint visitors, so most teams run it without a consent prompt. Your DPO gets a one-page summary in the docs.
Can I export or pipe data elsewhere?
Every view has a CSV and JSON endpoint, and the Team plan includes a webhook that posts daily aggregates to your warehouse.
What happens when I exceed my events?
Nothing breaks. We keep collecting, tell you once, and let you upgrade at the end of the month if the overage repeats.
Does this replace our existing analytics stack?
For most teams, yes — Nocturna covers retention, activation, and funnels without a separate dashboard build. If you need deep event-level querying beyond that, the export endpoint lets you keep both running side by side.
